Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews on Historical Gay Offenses

This is a few days late, but as I’m amassing my links, I’m posting those I think are immensely important to the LGBT community worldwide.

Victoria Apologises for Historic Gay Offenses

From the article:

“Victorian premier Daniel Andrews has issued an apology to people convicted of historical homosexual sex offences, the first of its kind offered in Australia.”

I see this as a hopeful step towards marriage equality in Australia. Not entirely sure how long that will take- I’m still learning about the community there- but this sort of thing preempted marriage equality here in the States and also the UK (if I’m remembering my studies correctly.)

I’d love to go to Pride in Australia one day, perhaps Sydney. I hear the LGBT community throws a tremendous celebration there!

Keep the Faith,
